Apostille Documents in the United States

There is no single route for every U.S. document.

State documents

Vital records, court documents and state notarizations generally follow the competent authority for the state where they originated. Florida has its own accepted-document criteria.

Federal documents

Eligible federal documents use a separate U.S. Department of State process. Consult the federal request instructions for current submission details.

Prepare for the recipient

Confirm country, intended use, certification, translations and deadlines. A private coordinator may assist with preparation and delivery; only the competent public authority issues the apostille.

This is general information. Florida Apostillar is a private document coordination company; the competent authority issues the apostille. Confirm requirements with the receiving institution.
